Ashwaghanda is a wonderful adaptogenic herb. This means that it can help the body adapt to stress. In the case of Cushing's disease, this herb can help to lower levels of cortisol which is a hormone elevated in dogs with cushing's disease. Cushing's disease is generally the result of a benign tumor located in the pituitary gland that activates the adrenal glands to increase secretion of cortisol. You mentioned an "autoimmune" condition in your question, however cushing's is not an autoimmune condition. Unless you meant your dog has a separate autoimmune condition the Adrenal Calm remedy should be fine for your dog. Please keep in mind that there is a difference between immune-stimulating herbs like echinacea and adaptogenic, immune-modulating herbs like ashwaghanda that are more strengthening/balancing to the system.
