This formula contains ginkgo leaf (Ginkgo biloba). There is some evidence that suggests this herb may increase the risk of seizures in animals with epilepsy. The research indicates that large amounts of ginkgotoxin found in ginkgo seeds is the culprit. We do not use the seeds of this herb and instead we use the leaves in our Female Incontinence formula. The leaves contain very small amounts of ginkgotoxin that are not of toxicological relevance. Yet, while the information I shared above would indicate that this formula would most likely be safe for your dog, I would still caution against its use if your dog has epilepsy just to be on the safe side. For incontinence, there are four cell salts recommended that you can try that are very safe. They are Calc Fluor #1, Nat Phos #10, Nat Sulph #11 and Silica #12 found here.
