Due to the fact that the Respiratory Tonic is a glycerite, meaning we use USP organic vegetable glycerin as the solvent, I don't believe it would be appropriate. Glycerin is thicker than both water and alcohol so I don't believe it would be a good idea to inhale it into the lungs and I am not sure it would even work. I would stick to essential oils to add to your diffuser. There are several I would suggest for respiratory issues but they are unfortunately not recommended for dogs or cats. Two essential oils that are safe for pets are lavender and chamomile, and both may be a good choice to relax an animal that is having breathing difficulties. Keep in mind that a dog's sense of smell is many times stronger than ours so be careful not to irritate your companion. Also keep in mind that birds and cats can be more sensitive to essential oils so research your choice in oils before use. If your animal is having breathing issues using the Respiratory Tonic internally along with Mag Phos Cell Salt #8 may be helpful.
