No, I don't feel the Herbal Digestive Tonic would be a good choice for a dog with a suspected ulcer or an apparently inflamed/irritated gut. I would suggest the Stomach Soother at this time because it can help to soothe an irritated stomach and coat and protect damaged tissue. When a dog vomits, especially more frequently, blood can be common due to the irritation of tissue. But what concerns me is the reddish and/or brown vomit and her inability to keep food down that can be symptoms of a more serious issue, especially in an elderly dog. I would recommend that you consider an ultrasound of your dog's liver and perhaps other areas of the digestive tract recommended by your veterinarian.
