Yes, generally the Buck Mountain Parasite Dust is sprinkled along a dog or cat's spine and then you can use your hand or a brush to go against your pet's coat to distribute the powder to the skin. This should be done when your animal is dry. Generally, most ticks/fleas are found along the base of the tail or neck/shoulder area or will crawl through these areas coming into contact with the powder. However, you can use some powder in your hand to rub under the chin, stomach, groin or other areas on your dog or cat, but this can get a little messy as some powder will fall to the floor while doing this.
