Our Daily Multi Plus was formulated to provide the digestive enzymes, probiotics and natural nutrients from USDA organic herbs and glandulars to supplement your dog or cat’s diet. It is formulated to provide additional nutrients to a healthy diet for canines and felines.
We have had this formula tested and found it to contain a very wide array of nutrients that includes: Vitamins - A (acetate), E, C, D, K, thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pantothenic acid (B5), pyridoxine (B6), biotin (B7), folate (B9), cobalamin (B12), iodine ; Carotenes - Vitamin A from carotene, lycopene, beta carotene, alpha carotene ; Minerals - sodium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus & calcium (in perfect ratio 1:2), copper, iron, manganese. These nutrients are in whole food form and contain all of the cofactors and supporting nutrients including different forms of these nutrients. For example with B12 both adenosylcobalamin and methylcobalamin are present. This would not be the case for isolated synthetic or manufactured vitamins. We can also safely assume, since these nutrients are from whole foods, that there are hundreds if not thousands of nutrients that were not tested for and which science has yet to discover.
However, testing for whole food nutrients is not an accurate science and we have found test results from two separate laboratories to be conflicting. From our own research and discussions with experts we have discovered that nutrient testing is primarily reserved for isolated, synthetic vitamins and minerals or those “natural” vitamins fermented using yeast. Of course isolated vitamins and minerals have their concerns as do those grown using yeast. You can read more on this topic in our article Whole Foods vs Synthetic Vitamins.
Our Daily Multi Plus is not meant to be the primary nutrient source, it is formulated to supplement a healthy diet. For example, even though this supplement provides calcium it is not in sufficient quantity to be the sole calcium source in a homemade diet that does not include bone. If you feed a commercial pet food diet the Daily Multi Plus is sufficient because it supplements the calcium already provided in the commercial pet food. However, if you home-prepare your pet’s food you will have to provide a calcium supplement such as our Natural Bone Calcium.
Customers that use our Daily Multi Plus rave about their dog or cat’s shiny, soft coat and the increase in their vitality and energy levels. We know from the health of our customers’ dogs and cats, as well as our own, that we are on the right tract when we prioritize nutrients from whole foods.
