Yes, I do believe that the Gum Rescue will be helpful in supporting the health of your dog's gums. Since gingival hyperplasia is typically a result of poor dental health I would also suggest two other supplements. Consider the Daily Oral Care which is sprinkled on top of your dog's food. This supplement adds beneficial oral probiotics to your dog's mouth that can help outcompete oral pathogenic species of bacteria that can cause inflammation and tissue damage. If you can, I would also recommend gently cleaning your dog's teeth with a natural, alkalizing tooth powder called Natural Tooth Powder. There are a lot of things we can try to support your dog's nervous system with GOLPP, but initially I would suggest our popular Nerve Tonic. I am not sure what you are feeding your dog, but a kibble diet that is high in carbohydrates can be making his gum condition worse. Consider home-preparing a healthy, whole food diet and we have suggestions in our article How to Feed Your Dog. Lastly, I just wish to mention that I agree with your decision to avoid a dental cleaning at your dog's age and with his conditions. Many people don't realize the amount of drugs used during this procedure and afterwards (5, 6 or more) and the toll they can take on an elderly pet's kidneys and nervous system.
