Yes, the Herbal Defense Spray is safe for your dogs if they lick their coats. Though it is not common for animals to lick this formula. You don't have to use too much and the essential oils in the formula will burn off after a time when exposed to oxygen so it won't be as strong continuously. Cat's are another matter and should be kept away from a dog sprayed with the Herbal Defense due to a cat's sensitivity to essential oils. As I mentioned previously the strength of the essential oils will dissipate and be safe for your cats around a dog after a period of time. I would like to mention that if your dog has broken skin due to flea bites and scratching this formula may be irritating.
