Yes, there is taurine in our Daily Multi Plus. However, the amount of taurine will naturally supplement a proper diet, not act as the primary source of taurine. In commercial pet foods, synthetic taurine is added because much of the natural taurine is lost due to the high temperature and pressure used to make pet foods. Taurine is naturally found in animal proteins, but depending on the temperature used during cooking 50% or more can be lost. Taurine is also water soluble, so if meat is steamed or boiled more taurine will be lost compared with baking at a lower temperature. Cats will get plenty of natural taurine from a diet of raw meat and organs. If the food is gently cooked then about 50% of the taurine will still be available and you can use our Multi Glandular Blend to mix into the food to provide an additional natural source of taurine.
