Hi is this the same as kelp for calcium in homemade meals?

No, the Seaweed Calcium differs from kelp in that it is obtained from a red algae called Lithothamnion calcareum whose primary feature is the formation of calcium carbonate precipitate in its cell walls. This mineral structure makes it a valuable, natural calcium supplement. Kelp on the other hand is rich in minerals, but is not a sufficient calcium source to fulfill that role in a homemade diet. Kelp is also a very concentrated source of iodine and should be used in moderation, and we feel not on a daily basis, for this reason.
