There are a couple of things that could have happened here. The test result could be a false positive, or the tick could have bitten your dog, engorged and fell off without you noticing, or depending on when she came to you, she was infected before she was your dog. Regardless of the reason, if there aren't any symptoms, a positive test does not mean your dog is sick, it just means that she has come in contact with the anaplasmosis organism and her immune system is doing its job. The Astragalus Root may be a good choice as it will energize the entire body and strengthen the immune system. Alternatively, you could use the Antimicrobial Blend for two weeks and she should be fine, this is what we have done for other dogs in the past and it has worked very well. Keeping ticks off a dog is very difficult and nothing is 100%, not even flea and tick pesticide products that contain powerful neurotoxins that can have a negative impact on your dog's health as she ages. When it comes to ticks, we remove ones we notice and focus on supporting a dog's immune system so the immune system can do its job and protect a dog from tick related illness, As you have seen with your dog the immune system handles the job quite well the majority of the time. I would recommend that you use the Astragalus Root or the Herbal Protection Drops to promote a strong immune response during tick season in your area.
