The Constipation Relief will certainly be healthier for your dog when compared with the Lactulose®, but we can not tell you not to take a medication prescribed by your veterinarian. An issue of concern with a product like Lactulose® is that it can dehydrate an animal and cause electrolyte imbalance. Since your dog doesn't drink a lot of water he needs to get moisture from his food. A homemade diet either raw or lightly cooked would be best for your dog and we offer suggestions in our article How to Feed Your Dog. I would also remove the Repair and Strengthen supplement from his diet until his constipation is resolved and use the Stomach Soother on an as needed basis when he appears to be nauseous. I would add in the Liver Tonic to increase the activity of the liver and gallbladder as the bile these organs secrete is a gentle, natural laxative.
