Thyroid Glandular is very different from thyroid medication. Thyroid Glandular provides thyroid specific nutrients to support the health of the thyroid gland and does not replace its function. Thyroid medication on the other hand replaces thyroid function by providing synthetic hormones so the thyroid gland will atrophy and shrink over time requiring medication for a lifetime. Thyroid Glandular can be used for as long as you choose and if your pet's thyroid regains normal function and this supplement is no longer needed that is wonderful. However, that is generally not the case as an under-active thyroid gland does not typically regain normal function without continuous nutritional support.
