You could go with either the medium or large Pancreas Support Package for your dog. The medium size package would certainly be fine to start with if you wish. Diet is also very important for a dog with pancreatitis so we suggest a healthy, whole food diet. We provide some suggestions for how to prepare a homemade diet yourself, purchase prepared diets, or use premixes to which you add your own meat in our article How to Feed Your Dog. You don't want to get too overly focused on feeding a very low fat diet as this can be unhealthy for a dog long term. Look at the fat content of the meat you use, or a prepared diet, and avoid the highest fat selections. The supplements we provide in our Pancreatitis Package will help your dog to metabolize fats safely. Lastly, avoid high fat treats or human food, such as turkey skin or gravy that are a common cause of acute pancreatitis around the holidays.
