Raw diets contain significant moisture and many dogs fed like this will not drink as much water because they are getting it from their diet. Adding water to his food will dilute his stomach acid and interfere with his digestion, so I would discontinue that and instead add in the Herbal Digestive Tonic to improve his digestion. When you see dark stool it means that there is plenty of bile and the stool is staying in his digestive tract for a longer period of time. When the stool is lighter that means there is less bile and the stool is moving through the digestive tract more quickly. Perhaps, use a food journal to keep track of the protein used in his diet, in case you rotate protein sources, and treats fed to him to see if you can identify any foods or treats that are affecting his stool. If the problem continues you can also consider a different raw food brand as there could be something in the current diet that is not agreeing with him.
