I don't think so. A detox is going to place additional stress on your dog's kidneys and at your dog's age we might want to avoid that. The kidney supplements will have a gentle cleansing action on the liver and kidneys as apart of their action on the body. Your dog is a senior dog and I understand that you may not wish to change his diet at this age. I am not sure what you feed your dog, but if you feed a dry, kibble diet the dryness of this diet is going to impact the health of the kidneys - they need sufficient moisture to function properly.
