My doctors think I am heading to hypothyroidism. I had always read that algae can worsen thyroid issues. True?
BioSuperfood F1 F2 F3 Microalgae Supplement
I’ve taken thyroid meds in the past but can only tolerate a low dose. Too high and I can’t sleep. My last labs showed that my thyroid was getting slow. The number they put on it was 6. I don’t fully understand. But I do have cold hands and feet. I’m only 5’4” and 112 pounds. The doctor always wanted to up my meds and that didn’t help me. Caused more problems. I just don’t want to take something that will cause more issues.

We are not doctors and can not provide medical advice. However, we can offer some suggestions based on our knowledge. First, one reading on a thyroid panel does not give you a complete picture. You need to be tested for Free T4, Free T3, TSH and TPOab (autoimmune thyroiditis antibodies) to get a complete picture of what is going on. The issue of concern with algae is getting to much iodine that can impact the thyroid gland. Biosuperfood will not do this as it is a blend of four specific algae that provide a wide range of nutrients, not like just taking a spirulina supplement alone. If you are indeed hypothyroid I would suggest starting on the Biosuperfood F3, Ashwaghanda tincture and a thyroid glandular supplement. Also research what foods benefit thyroid health and which negatively impact the thyroid gland so you can adjust your diet. Good luck!
