Yes, Sovereign Silver is safe to use in the ears if an animal has renal disease. What I suggest is that you use the Sovereign Silver to clean your dog's ears and then use Zymox Enzymatic Ear Solution that can be found online with or without hydrocortisone. A healthy, whole food diet that is low in carbohydrates would also be beneficial for ear health and we offer some suggestions in our article How to Feed Your Dog.
