In addition to sufficient quantities of calcium and magnesium, Seaweed Calcium also provides a wide range of trace minerals. Since it is plant-based, these nutrients are very bioavailable. On the other hand, eggshell calcium is primarily comprised of calcium carbonate (about 95%!) and a more limited nutrient profile. Calcium from eggshells is less bioavailable, and there are also concerns with contamination and varying quality in eggshells. Another good calcium source to consider is Natural Bone Calcium that has a nutrient profile that matches whole bone.
