Yes, the Nerve Tonic often helps with nerve pain that can be part of a dog's discomfort with that condition. Often for IVDD (intervertebral disc disease) a veterinarian will usually prescribe pain medication. However, this just addresses symptoms and not the underlying cause of the disease which is degradation of the discs between vertebrae. Addressing pain is important, however it is also very important to provide nutritional support for the potential of healing and repair of tissue. We provide an educational video on arthritis that does include some information on IVDD found here. The supplements we typically recommend for a dog with IVDD are Nerve Tonic, Daily Multi Plus, Elk Velvet Antler, Systemic Enzymes and Bovine Cartilage. Since nerve impingement is a common cause of discomfort for a dog with IVDD finding a good canine chiropractor can do a world of good. You can use the AHVMA website to find a good chiropractor or holistic vet in your area.
