We can't use the words "preventative", and instead would say support kidney health. Yes, the Kidney Glandular can be used to support the health of your young cats' kidneys if you wish and it would not be too much or overkill. However, I feel that while the Kidney Glandular would be a good choice, the Kidney Tonic may be a better choice for this purpose as it will help to gently cleanse kidneys and also promote blood supply to the kidneys which is very important for kidney health. If I had to choose one thing that is best for the long-term health of a cat that would be a raw diet that fulfills the moisture and protein requirements of our feline friends. Avoiding excessive vaccines and flea and tick medications, and providing a diet with sufficient moisture (no dry kibble!) are all key to a cat's long term health.
