It says not to use the Herbal Defense around cats. Does that mean just till it dries on the dog? How long does that take?

Cats shouldn't be exposed to concentrated sources of essential oils because they cannot effectively detoxify them. Cats shouldn't have an issue when a dog in their household is sprayed because their exposure would be quite low. To be on the safe side you can keep cats away for a few minutes after you spray your dog as the initial strong sent will evaporate off somewhat and dry rather quickly. In most cases the Herbal Defense is used before walks or hikes when a dog is outside and away from cats.
