I am sorry to hear that your dog isn't feeling his best. The phosphorus content found in our Elk Velvet Antler is inconsequential especially with such a small serving being suggested. Many other elk velvet antler supplements contain the base of the antler that is higher in minerals. This is done for the obvious reason that the antler base is heavy and adds weight and bulk inexpensively to a supplement. However, properly harvested elk velvet antler like ours primarily uses the top "velvet" portion of the antler that is mostly proteins, glycosaminoglycans (joint nutrients), growth factors and lipids. Elk velvet antler has been used for centuries in Chinese medicine to support kidney energy, so it can make a wonderful supplement for struggling kidneys. Your dog's current issue is not being caused by the phosphorus content of the elk velvet antler. It could just be a coincidence that you started this supplement and is likely related to your dog's kidney disease and potential fluid/toxin build up in the body. Or it could be a reaction your dog is having to the antler for some reason, which is uncommon. I would suggest that you discontinue the antler for a few days and see if there is any change in your dog's condition.
