Ursodiol® is a medication with numerous ingredients that include corn starch, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide and a capsule shell containing gelatin, titanium dioxide, D&C Red # 28, FD&C Blue # 1 and FD&C Red # 40. Several ingredients, such as artificial colors, you really don't want an animal to digest because they can be unhealthy. While Ursodiol® only provides one bile acid called ursodeoxycholic acid, our Ox Bile is a whole food supplement and provides the full complement of bile acids in a natural form without the added chemical ingredients. At the proper dosage there are no side effects and Ox Bile can help support a healthy liver similar to the medication. You may also wish to add in the Liver Tonic that will help the liver to gently detox and produce more of its own bile to help support healthy cholesterol that doesn't create gallstones. Before you use the Liver Tonic just make sure your dog does not have any blockages in the liver or gallbladder ducts.
