If your dog is fed a diet with sufficient protein from meat, I would doubt that they would need more zinc. The reason we focus on whole foods is that it is hard to cause imbalances or reach toxic levels with whole foods. For example, too much zinc can interfere with iron absorption and contribute to anemia. You should make sure your dog does in fact need more zinc before supplementing by first using a Hair Mineral Analysis or other mineral testing method.
