There are two common causes for elevated bilirubin levels in the blood. One is hemolytic anemia in which red blood cells are damaged causing them to release hemoglobin which is converted into bilirubin. Your dog should be checked for this condition if he hasn't been already. The second common cause of high bilirubin is liver disease. The liver is responsible for filtering out bilirubin as a part of bile. High bilirubin levels in the blood can indicate the liver is not doing its job properly. Liver damage can be caused by medications your dog is on so this should be considered. In order for me to make supplement recommendations for your dog I really would need to know what condition we need to address. To provide you with some sort of answer for now, we would usually suggest the Biopreparation F3 formula when there is a dog that has a health concern that requires additional nutritional support.
