I am sorry to hear about your dog, and while it may be technically true that there is no cure for kidney disease that does not mean that there isn't anything to be done for your dog. You can nutritionally support the kidneys to improve their function and longevity. We provide an educational video on Kidney Disease in Dogs and Cats to help educate you on this topic. I would suggest that you consider the entire Kidney Support Package for your dog. In addition, since most processed pet foods contain large amount of carbohydrates - 40% - 50% or more - that we know are converted into sugar in the body and contribute to diabetes, I would consider a whole food diet for your dog. You can prepare this diet yourself or purchase a raw or cooked prepared diet and we offer suggestions in our article How to Feed Your Dog. Lastly, for your information, although the organic vegetable glycerin we use in our herbal formulas is sweet, it does not impact blood sugar and is fine to use for diabetic animals.
