Collagen for Dogs and Cats
Could you please include a list of the 18 types of amino acids found in this Collagen & what exactly is types I & III Collagen? Also, would this Collagen be beneficial in helping to strengthen my little dog's trachea in order to prevent a condition called collapsed trachea that little dogs like mine unfortunately sometimes can get. Thankfully, my little dog does not have this health issue & I would like to start giving him a supplement that would support, strengthen & protect his trachea to prevent this health concern. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks! Patti Baker

Types l and lll collagen are types of protein with different chemical structures. There are 19 total amino acids in collagen (8 of which are essential): Alanine, Arginine, Asparagine, Aspartate, Cysteine, Glutamate, Glutamine, Glycine, Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Proline, Serine, Threonine, Tyrosine, and Valine. Collagen is missing the essential amino acid, tryptophan. The absence of this essential amino acid is the reason why collagen cannot be used as the primary or only protein source.
